Kalinga Nagar : Following the 7th Asia Steel International Conference 2018 at Bhubaneswar, 23 number of delegates of the summit visited Kalinga Nagar based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited on 09th February, 2018. Delegates from countries like Japan, China, Korea, Austria visited the Steel Melting Shop, Coke Oven, Power Plant etc. of the integrated steel plant.
Representing organisations like Nippon Steel, JFE Steel Corporation, IIT, Mumbai, Carl Zeiss Limited, TRL, TSL, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India– the delegates discussed about the various technological aspects in steel making with the Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of NINL.
Earlier, 7th Asia Steel International Conference 2018 was held at Bhubaneswar from 6th February to 8th February, 2018. Honb’le Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated the international conference. This year’s conference was focussed on the challenges faced by the steel industry, reducing energy consumption in steel making and bringing down CO2 emissions.
NINL, promoted by MMTC Ltd., IPICOL & OMC, has set up an 1.1 million ton integrated Iron and Steel plant at Kalinga Nagar, Odisha. Presently the products are Steel Billets, Pig Iron and LAM Coke along with Nut Coke, Coke Breeze, Crude Tar, Ammonium Sulphate, Granulated Slag, etc.
