“It’s the day to remember the sacrifices by martyrs for this freedom”: Naveen Jindal

Angul: The Angul Unit of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) celebrated 71st Independence Day with patriotic fervour. In a grand programme organized at OP Jindal School campus Chairman of JSPL Shri Naveen Jindal unfurled the Tricolour in presence of Executive Director and Location Head of Angul Unit Shri DK Saraogi, employees of JSPL with their family, School Children and local villagers.
In his address Shri Jindal saluted the freedom fighters for their sacrifices in achieving independence of India. “After Independence, India is progressing in each and every field and has emerged as developing country. We are proud that JSPL has made significant contribution in India’s journey towards development”. Inspired by Shri OP Jindal ji’s vision towards building a self reliant India, JSPL is making all effort to contribute towards holistic socio-economic development of India, he added.
Shri. Jindal walked around the audience and interacted with them. Community members, students and employees clicked selfies with him.


At the function, Students of O.P. Jindal School & DAV Savitri Jindal High School performed a scintillating cultural programme filled with patriotic messages.
DAV Savitri Jindal High School and O.P. Jindal Community College also observed the celebration with patriotic pomp and gaiety at their respective institutions.
Like every year, in order to reach the school children in local vicinity of Angul plant, JSPL Foundation distributed food packets among 20160 children of 71 local schools and 79 Anganwadi Centres in 19 Gram Panchayats in Angul district to share the happiness and glories of Independence Day.
Among others President of Jindal Mahila Samiti Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, EVP & Head (SMS & DRI) Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP & Group Head (CSR & Education) Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota, VP & Head (CSR) Mr. S.K. Sharma, Head (HR) Mr. Alok Malhotra, GM (Projects) Mr. Ashish Pandey and others senior officials of JSPL attended the Independence Day celebration ceremony.
