DAV Vedanta International School Celebrated 11th Anniversary

 

Lanjigarh: The DAV Vedanta International School, Lanjigarh, celebrated its 11th annual day ‘Vishitaa’ on 25th April 2018. Present on the occasion were Mr. Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Ex-Chief Secretary of Odisha and President, Vedanta University Project, Mr. Anjan Kumar Manik, Collector & District Magistrate – Kalahandi, Mr. Jalaj Malpani – CFO, Alumina Business -Vedanta Limited, Mr. Phillip Campbell – Director Technical, Mr. KA Chowdary – Head Projects, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar – Chief Transformation Officer, Mr. Mahendra Raut– AGM – Human Resources and Mrs. Harmeet Sehra, Chief Community Development Officer – Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh among other company officials and dignitaries.

The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome speech by Mrs. Shukla Chakraborty, Principal. Addressing the audience, Mr. Bijay Kumar Patnaik appreciated the effort of DAV Vedanta International School for imparting quality education in the region and advised students to learn hard and gain wisdom to do good for the society. Mr. Anjan Kumar Manik commended the exalted standards of the institution and the contributions made by it in grooming children of Lanjigarh vicinity. Mr. Jalaj Malpani reiterated the effort of Vedanta towards development of the region through various community development initiatives.

During the function, a newsletter of the school was also inaugurated by the dignitaries. The atmosphere was filled with a variety of scintillating cultural programs of songs, skits and dances by the students of DAV Vedanta International School, which left the audience mesmerized. The prizes for excellence in various activities were also given away by the guests.

The DAV Vedanta International School, Lanjigarh is the only English medium school in Lanjigarh region established with the support of Vedanta Limited with more than 1000 students. The school has benefited a number of students from tribal and underprivileged families. More than five hundred parents, students and community members were present during the programme. The event was anchored by Sulaya Kumar Meher.
