CRPF 4th Battalion Adopts A Village And Initiates Convergence Of Government Schemes

Report by Badal Tah; Rayagada: CRPF 4th Battalion at Rayagada has gone a giant leap forward by adopting totally a tribal villagenamed Adabadi in Kalyan Singhpur block and revisited many government development schemes like Ujjwal Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana, Soil Health Card scheme, Swachh Bharat activities, several health schemes and loan facilities. This is apart from their regular civic action programmes like distribution of teaching & learning materials, sports equipments, health camps, relief operation, providing necessary household articles like utencils and water tanks, etc in several hinterland villages of their operational area.

Senior officers namely Sri M.K. Sicon, Second in Command of 4th Battalion CRPF, Inspector Sri Mukesh Kumar from CRPF, Sub-Inspector Sri B.R. Mishra of CRPF with other officials from 4th Battalion in the presence of Inspector Shri Kapileshwar Behera (IIC) and Shri Prasanta Kumar, Branch Manager, SBI,K.Singpur made the villagers aware about several govt schemes and facilitated filling up of forms for the villagers. While 251 forms have been filled up by the officials present benefitting villagers, 169 benefits have been given to villagers on the spot and the rest 82 are to be followed up.

Adoption of an entire village like Adabadi and initiating govt schemes for left out families has once again proved that this coveted para-military wing of of our country is not only seriously concerned about keeping law and order in the area but also the wholistic development of villages. This process will continue in other villages having development deficit, said Sri Tejaraj Mishra, PRO, CRPF, 4th Battalion, Rayagada. This newer role of the military force is appreciated by the local communities.
