Koraput: Congress MP Saptagiri Ulaka urges Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to fill up all faculty vacancies in Central University of Odisha (CUO) so as to improve higher education in tribal-dominated district like Koraput.
“As against 154 sanctioned posts of teaching staff, including professors, associate professors and assistant professors, the varsity has only one associate professor and 16 assistant professors for its 14 departments,” the letter further stated.
The Koraput MP also apprised the Union HRD Minister that even though the varsity runs sans sufficient teaching staff, the authorities have turned a blind eye to the issue.
Pointing out the acute shortage of teaching faculties in the varsity, Ulaka urged the Union Government for intervention into the matter in order to improve higher education in a tribal-dominated district like Koraput.
