Commissionerate police to set up second Traffic police station at Chadrashekharpur

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police would be setting up a second Traffic police station at Chadrashekharpur here. This was informed by the Commissioner of Police YB Khurania on Saturday

The police station would be set up at an estimated cost of the Rs 1.98 crore. The expenses for it would be borne by the Commissionerate police. The police station, which would function under an Inspector rank-officer, would have 171 staffs. It would have two jeeps and 15 motorbikes for the personnel.

The areas of eight police stations of the city including Khandagiri and Tamando would be under its jurisdiction. Presently, the Traffic police station at AG Square is overburdened as it has to look after traffic in the whole city.

The new station is expected to streamline the traffic flow and lead to strict enforcement of the rules to check the spiralling number of road mishaps.
