AAP has even demanded shunning of the Bachpan school and shift all the students to another school with all the facilities prescribed by Govt.

The guts of the mother of the sexually exploited to expose the act of the school teacher has been praised by the general public of Rayagada town. The parents of the Bachpan School have also submitted a memorandum to Collector demanding other culprits involved with the management of the school to be taken to task with immediate effect. As per the new guidelines of CBSE issued after the incident in Ryan International school, the school authorities are primarily accountable for such incidents.

Mrs.Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, IAS, Collector, Rayagada has expressed her concern over the children’s safety and security in the private schools in Rayagada district. Last year under the leadership of the Collector, there was sensitisation meeting on Right to Education(RTE) and corporeal punishment with private schools in Rayagada Municipality. She has proposed for another meeting with the authorities of these schools & to constitute squads to ensure implementation of the guidelines recently issued by Central Board of Secondary Education and the Acts like POCSO, Sexual harassment Act, etc by the private schools, especially within Rayagada Municipality to start with.

She has also written to Govt to post a full time District Education Officer(DEO) or else depute a local officer of OAS cadre to look into the day-to-day affairs pertaining the issues cropped up recently. As it is a very pertinent issue Collector Guha has taken it seriously and redressing the problem in a war footing. In this regard, there is a dissent among the denizens from all walks of life and Guha’s quick action for the grievance redressal and ensuring maintenance of minimum quality standards in these private schools has been appreciated.
