CM Naveen Patnaik flagged off ‘My Heart Beats for Hockey’ campaign ahead of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister unveils ‘My Heartbeats for Hockey’ campaign on the occasion of National Sports Day

Bhubaneswar, 29th August 2019 – As we mark the 90 days count down for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018, the Chief Minister of the State Shri Naveen Patnaik has launched an innovative campaign in the presence of Padma Shri Dilip Tirkey, ex – Captain, Indian Hockey team and other official dignitaries which filled everyone with the enthusiasm for the Odisha Men’s Hockey World cup 2018.

On the National Sports Day, the promotional initiatives of the campaign “My Heart Beats for Hockey” have started across the country. The campaign stars the national hockey team urging people to pledge their support for the game, saying: “My heart beats for hockey, does yours?” and get whole nation behind the game of hockey which has brought fame and glory to our nation at international stage in the field of sports. A video is released on this campaign with Indian hockey stars. The campaign aims to revive the same passion and devotion for the game and urges the entire country to give billion plus hearts and seek support from every Indian nationally and globally for the game of Hockey.

A countdown clock was also unveiled at the event which showcases 90 days to go to the Odisha Men’s Hockey world cup 2018.

“I am delighted to be present here today on the occasion of launch of the campaign for promotion of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018. The campaign has been named as “My Heart Beats for Hockey”. I can tell that my heart definitely beats for Hockey and I can say with confidence that the heart of every sports loving person in our state beats for Hockey” the Chief Minister extolled all Indians to join this campaign and give a billion heartbeats to the game of hockey. Also, speaking about the countdown clock he said
“The countdown clock will rhyme with the heart of India and rhythm of Odisha in the lead up to the Hockey World Cup”.

The occasion also marked the awarding of Biju Patnaik Awards to the following sportspersons for their outstanding performances in the year 2017- 18

A wall of wishes was also signed by the CM where he wrote his best wishes for the hockey world cup. The wall of wishes will be kept for general public to come forward, sign and leave good luck messages for the Indian Hockey team and other 15 participating countries for the upcoming Odisha Men’s Hockey World cup Bhubaneswar2018 , #HWC2018 #Odisha2018
