Report by Malaya Mohapatra, Keonjhar: Inspite of several memorandums, protests by Barbil citizens to draw the attention of the administration to improve the health facility in Barbil Hospital, nothing could progress. The Barbil Govt hospital is the hope for lakhs of people residing in Joda barbil mining area. But lack of doctors, medical staff has paralysed the health delivery system in this hospital since years. To sensitize the govt and the authorities for restoring the health facilities citizens under the banner of Barbil Civil Society have begun a foot march from barbil to cover 80 kilometers to reach keonjhar collector office. On the way, the citizens are being greeted by local organisation and public at different places. The Foot rally will reach keonjhar on 3rd May and will place their demands before the collector and CDMO. (pic)
