Central University of Odisha obtained NAAC accreditation, grade

Report by Nishapati Nayak; Koraput: The Central University of Orissa is happy to note that based on the recommendation of the NAAC peer team committee led by Prof. A.N Rai, former Vice-Chancellor of NEHU and former director of NAAC Bangalore and three other distinguished academics, the NAAC Bangalore in its 28th standing committee meeting held on 30 October 2017 has given accreditation to the CUO along with CGPA 2.59 and B+.

This is the first time in the history of the CUO since its inception in 2009 that it has obtained a NAAC accreditation and grade.

While thanking the peer team and NAAC Bangalore for the collective reflection by the CUO community, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty expressed satisfaction for the impressive growth the CUO has made especially in the past 2 years in terms of entrance examination in 22 centers, promulgation of academic ordinance, recruitment rules, computer centers, internet connectivity, shifting of students to permanent campus, MoUs with sister organization, campus wi-fi, permanent water and electricity connectivity, green campus, infrastructure development, health centers and 24 hours ambulance service.

Prof. Mohanty added “along with celebration, it is equally important for the CUO to project and achieve a curve of all round growth which will be possible by a collective effort”.

He has thanked the CUO community, the State and Central Govts., the alumni and other stake holders including the media for the achievement.
