Central University of Odisha celebrates 72nd Independence Day

There are many challenges before us, but with challenges there are also opportunities. Higher education system has to play an important role to counter these issues by making people aware by quality higher education”. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sachidanand Mohanty said on the celebration of Independence Day at the Central University of Orissa. On this occasion Prof. Mohanty unfurled the tricolour. Subsequently he inaugurated the long awaited Shopping Complex at its Sunabeda campus and dedicated to the academic community which is a mile stone in the direction of infrastructure development of the University. He urged the University community to dedicate themselves for the peace and development of the nation.

Prof. Mohanty reminded the students about the price the martyrs have paid for the freedom of the country. He said “University is facing many challenges and hurdles in the path of development but to complete the basic requirement of the students we can together overcome all the hurdles. The visiting professor scheme has been activated to provide eminent professors to the students. Half day and full day seminars and lectures will be organised for the students”. He urged the University community to dedicate themselves for the development of the University and nation.

Prof. Mohanty pointed out some of the important achievement of the Central University of Orissa like NAAC accreditation, NIRF ranking, MoUs with HAL and COATS, free Wi-fi campus, Hi-tech, computer centres, E-library, entrance examination in 22 centres, tree plantation for green campus, construction of roadside drainage, campus placement, parking shed, commissioning of hostels and Guest house and permanent supply of electricity and water. On this occasion students, faculties and staff of the University were present in large numbers.
