Campus selection at Central University of Odisha; Four students of JMC got placement at Eenadu Digital

Report by Nishapati Nayak, Koraput: Four students from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Central University of Orissa got placements in a reputed media house of the country, Eenadu Digital, a division of Ushodaya Enterprises Private Limited, Hyderabad this year. This is the first time the Placement Cell of the University conducted the placement drive for the students and alumni of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University. Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor congratulated the selected candidates and wished them a successful life ahead. He said “students need to utilize the opportunity they are getting in the University and excel in the competitive world and should be a resource for the University as well”. “the Central University of Orissa is a public University and it is working for the development for the region and for the nation” he added. Prof. Mohanty advised the students to carry out all the assigned work to them sincerely and dedicatedly.

The Recruitment Drive was conducted by the Placement Cell of the University in association with the Eenadu Digital, a division of Ushodaya Enterprises Private Limited, Hyderabad. More than 30 students had participated in the written test conducted on 27 April, 2017 at the University campus, Landiguda, Koraput. Six students have been shortlisted for the via-voice which was conducted on-line through the Skype and four students namely Mr. Shankarshan Bagh, Mrs. Srima Mishra, Ms. Puja Biswas and Ms. Subhashree Sahu have been selected for the post of Trainee Content Editor. The selected candidates will be posted at the head office at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. All the selected candidates were in their 4th semester and had just completed their course in the University.

Dr. Phagunath Bhoi, PRO cum Placement Officer organized the placement drive along with the active support of Dr. Pradosh Kumar Rath, Head I/C, department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University.
