BookBus inaugurates a Passenger Waiting Lounge

Bhubaneswar: In order to provide an edge to the online bus ticket booking market, Book Bus, Odisha’s first ever bus ticket booking app, launched a customer service kiosk cum passenger waiting lounge at the Vani Vihar bus stand today. The lounge was inaugurated by advocate Prabir Das, transgender social right activist Madhuri Maa along with the CEO of Book Bus Santosh Kumar Sethy.
“We had launched Book Bus in 2017 in a bid to digitalize the bus transportation service while making it transparent and hassle-free for both the customers and bus owners. This app enabled the bus owners to take stock of their seat inventory and ticket sales in a transparent way helping them to cut losses. The app users on the other hand can easily select the bus and book their preferred seats and pay online without having to run to the bus counters everytime. In a bid to better serve Book Bus customers, we have come up with this kiosk to not only educate people about the benefits of booking bus tickets through this app but also act as a passenger lounge cum waiting area”, said Santosh Kumar Sethy.
The Customer service kiosk cum waiting lounge has a customer service desk to enable and guide Book Bus customers and a waiting lounge for the passengers waiting for their bus. The koisk also has amenities like tea and snacks counter and mobile charging points available for the passengers.
Showing solidarity with the Pulwama terrorist attack victims, Book Bus CEO gave away a cheque of INR 50,000 to Gagan Sahu, the son of Saheed Prasanna Kumar Sahu, to aid him in his studies.
The inaugural event was also attended by the family of the martyr along with journalist Dillip Mishra, Bus owner Ajay Swain as guests of honour.
