Bhubaneswar: On Utkal Divas Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) donated a tri scooter to a physically challenged person Srinivas Mallick at Samantarapur as part of a noble gesture on the auspicious day.
The tri scooter was sponsored by Axis Bank, Samantatapur Branch under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The programme was organised by Axis Bank Samantarapur Branch, where local councilor Litu Mahasupakar, BMC Chief Finance Officer Labanya Sabar, Axis Bank Circle Head Arabinda Sahu, Cluster Head Satya Bhusan Rout , Branch Head B. Mishra, senior manager Manoranjan Mohanty and branch heads of other branches of the Temple City were present.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Axis Bank have decided to arrange these type of social activities in Progress Through Partnership model in days to come. It can be mentioned here that the civic body opened nine drinking water kiosks, known as Jala Seva Sibirs yesterday on the day of Utkal Divas. The day is being celebrated as on that day separate Odisha province was created from the different Odia speaking tracts during the British rule in 1936.
