Blistering heat persisted in most parts of Odisha, Titlagarh hottest at 45.5 degC

Bhubaneswar: Blistering heat persisted in most parts of Odisha, mainly in the western region with both and Titlagarh becoming the hottest areas recording 45.5 degrees Celsius.

As the mercury breached the 40 degree mark in 5 towns and 40 degree mark in at least 12 places in the state, the Met office predicted further intensification of heatwave conditions for some more days.

Angul stood second at 44.7 degree Celsius followed by Talcher 44.4 degree, Sundargarh 44 degree, Bhawanipatna 43.8 per cent, Hirakud 43.6 degree, Balangir 43.4 degree, Dhenkanal 43.2 degree, Jharsuguda 43 degree, Sambalpur 42.8, Baripada 42.4 degree, Malkangiri 42 degree, Chandbali 41.2 degree, Sonepur 41 degree, Keonjhar 40.7 degree, Cuttack 40.8 degree and Baleswar 40degree Celsius.

For the first time this season, Cuttack and Baleswar recorded above 40 degree Celsius.
