BJP to spread awareness on centre welfare schemes in Odisha

Report by Malaya Mohapatra; Keonjhar: A week long gram swaraj abhijan is being observed by BJP across the state to make people aware about the welfare programmes of Modi Govt. On this occasion the Party in a press meet at Keonjhar targeted the state Government for failure in implementation of various central govt schemes and rampant corruption by different departments. The BJP govt at center has launched a seven point welfare scheme for the farmers for which a Kishan Kalyan Karmasala will be held in each block on 2nd May to make the farmers aware about the benefits of the scheme.

Assistance of farming by drip irrigation and lift irrigation with aim to get more crop per drop of water, provide better seeds, Crop Insurance, Assistance in Storage and marketing of agriculture products, Easy Crop finance etc are the main focus of this agriculture scheme, Radhakanta Mahanta, Dist President said. Apart from welfare programmes, the Centre had passed laws and asked all state Govts to collect funds from mines and spend the same for the area development by forming a Trust called Dist mineral Foundation in each District. But in Keonjhar no trust has been registered yet and the funds collected are not utilized as per the rules and guidelines laid down by the Govt, Maheswar Sahoo, senior BJP leader alleged.

There has been scams going on through illegal mining of sand and other minor minerals in keonjhar and nearby districts. Illegal mining and smuggling of iron & Manganese continues in full swing in keonjhar but authorities and police remain silent spectators, Spoke person Sajjan Sharma added. The party is already in a mission to reach every village to expose the Naveen Govt and bring BJP to power in the next election. Party State Vice President Sukesi Oram, Maheswar Sahoo, Radhakant Mahanta, Sanjib Nayak and other District cadre leaders were present in the press briefing.
