BJD supremo, Odisha CM revokes suspension on Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy

Bubaneswar: BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik revokes suspension on Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy .

Tripathy was suspended from the ruling BJD on October 31, 2014, minutes after being arrested by the CBI in connection to his alleged link with the multi-crore Artha Tatwa chit fund scam.

However, the legislator was granted bail from the Orissa High Court on March 3, 2015.
Tripathy was arrested by the CBI on October 31, 2014 for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam committed by Artha Tatwa(AT) company. Tripathy was arrested by the CBI on charges of hatching a criminal conspiracy with the chit fund group. The central investigating agency in its charge-sheet had cited that the MLA had taken over Rs 40 lakh from AT group chief Pradeep Sethy. Soon after his arrest, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had suspended Tripathy from the party. However, he was later granted bail by the Orissa High Court on March 3, 2015.
