Bhubaneswar: BJD Rajya Sabha candidates Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Achyuta Samanta & Prasanta Nanda to file nomination at Odisha Legislative Assembly today in presence of Chief Minister & party president Naveen Patnaik .
It should be noted that BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik on March 7 announced BJD’s three candidates’ name for Rajya Sabha. Achyuta Samanta and Soumya Ranjan Patnaik joining into the BJD fold on March 7 morning.
Soumya Ranjan Patnaik is the Founder and Editor of leading Odia Daily ‘Sambad’ and younger brother of former PCC President Niranjan Patnaik and son-in-law of former Assam Governor and Odisha CM Janaki Ballav Patnaik.
Achyuta Samanta is the founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT); Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), which provides free accommodation, food, healthcare, and education from class 1 to post-graduation with vocational training; KIIT International School (KIS), an International Baccalaureate affiliated school, and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), a medical college.
Prashant Nanda who is yesteryear’s superstar of Odia film industry and politician in the Indian state of Odisha. He worked in the Oriya film industry as an actor, director, screenwriter, lyricist and playback singer. He was also the former Minister of State of Odisha.
