Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The BJD expelled Paradip MLA Damodar Rout in his maiden visit to his home turf Erasama headquarters on Monday was given rousing welcome by locals and supporters those not digest Dama Babu’s abrupt departure from Party.
Report said that about 12 thousand people from Erasama, Balikuda and Kujanga blocks were gathered at Thana Chhak in Erasama headquarters where the expelled leader Dama Babu held a public meeting attended by scribe Ravi Das, Yagaonswar Babu, RTI activist Pradip Pradhan and the gathering was organized by Balikuda- Erasama Durniti Pratiridha Sangrama Samiti. Moreover former MP Baijanta Panda Ex minister Panchanan Kunongo were invited by organiser to attend the event but duo remained absent at the meeting.
Dama Babu’s visit to Erasama is significant as he had been representing the constituency three times after constituency delamination he shifted to Paradip assembly seat in the year 2009.
After delamination a new assembly constituency had established Balikuda- Erasama taking Balikuda and Erasama blocks, BJD had captured the seat in the year 2009 and 2014, Prasanta Muduli had elected MLA as reportedly said that the former had maintained allegiance with Dama Babu.
Surprisingly the political scenario of BJD has changed after Dama Babu ousted from the party, Dama Babu wants to retain his supremacy in Erasama as he becomes son of the soil and familiar with each villages.
Sources informed that Dama Babu Supporters had proposed organizing a massive public gathering at Erasama soon after his BJD departure but no immediate supports had gathered so deferred the endeavor few weeks later on Monday held the meeting. Addressing the gathering septuagenarian Dama Babu vehemently criticized state ruling BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik and Balikuda- Erasama MLA Prasanta Muduli describing him agent of the third floor.
On the flip side BJD leaders from Erasama and Balikuda have described Dama Babu meeting was unsuccessful, it is a congress and BJP sponsored gathering against BJD,the people attended at the meeting from Congress and BJP supporters backed by their local leaders.
