BJD govt only increased poverty,  unemployment in Odisha: Amit Shah

Bhubaneswar: BJP National President Amit Shah today came down heavily on Naveen Patnaik as never before during his earlier visits to the state, even asked the party workers to throw out the BJD government for failing to take up developmental works in the last 17 years of its governance.

Comparing Modi government with a power supply unit and Naveen Patnaik as a burnt transformer he said, “Narendra Bhai (brother) is a powerhouse and Naveen a transformer.  If the transformer could not provide electricity from the grid to people, don’t just replace the transformer, uproot and throw it out.”

He said that in the 17 years rule the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has failed miserably on several fronts and not been able to usher in development in Odisha.

“I am not here to give the account of three-year-old Modi government’s work, rather to take an account of development work in the state in the last 17 years rule of BJD government and the central funds provided to Odisha,” the BJP leader said, accusing the state government of not cooperating with the Modi government to carry out development works in the state.

Shah said Naveen Patnaik is seeing ‘lotus’ in his dream after BJP’s miraculous performance in the last Panchayat polls in the state.
