BJD delegation meets Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut over 33% reservation for women bill

Bhubaneswar: Today a delegation of BJD leaders comprising of Minister Shri Badri Narayan Patra and senior BJD leader Shri. Arup Patnaik met NCP President Shri. Sharad Pawar at his Pune residence. Both handed over a letter from the Hon’ble President of Biju Janata Dal seeking support from his party for ensuring 33% reservation for women in the Parliament and State Assemblies. Mr. Sharad Pawar was extremely positively to this matter and welcomed the initiative of BJD President Shri. Naveen Patnaik in this regard and supported the cause. He fondly remembered his association with Late Shri. Biju Patnaik and Shri.Naveen Patnaik.


Another delegation of the party comprising of MP Shri. Balabhadra Majhi and senior BJD leader Shri. Arup Patnaik met senior Shiv Sena leader and MP Shri. Sanjay Raut in Mumbai. Both handed over a letter from the Hon’ble President of Biju Janata Dal seeking support from his party for ensuring 33% reservation for women in the Parliament and State Assemblies. Shri. Sanjay Raut was appreciative of the initiative undertaken by the President of BJD Shri. Naveen Patnaik and said that it is a welcome step. In this regard he informed that he would discuss with the Shiv Sena President Shri. Uddhav Thackeray and was very positive about the issue of women’s empowerment which would be possible through this initiative.
As decided earlier by BJD President Shri. Naveen Patnaik, delegations from the party are visiting 22 national and regional parties across India, seeking their support in ensuring 33% reservation for women in the Parliament and State Assemblies.
