Report by Avilash Panigrhi; Bhubaneswar: Today, on the birth anniversary of Legendary Bhajan singer Bhikari Bal, tributes are pouring in on popular micro blogging platform Twitter. His contribution to the field of odia bhajans and devotional songs earned him the title Bhajan Samrat. Born in Sobala village under Pattamundei block in Kendrapara on May 25, 1929, Bal was attracted to music since childhood. His recital of bhajans and folk songs are still popular among music lovers. He passed away on November 2,2010.
Eminent personalities like Chief Minister Naven Patnaik , Central Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Sand artist Padmashree Sudarshan Pattnaik remembered the revered Odia vocalist oh his 89th birth anniversary .
