Bhubaneswar’s Sambit Behera creates record of sorts in JEE Advance exam

 Bhubaneswar: At the country’s most prestigious entrance exams for engineering courses, JEE Advance 2019, Bhubaneswar’s Sambit Behera has created a record of sorts. Sambit not only topped the JEE Advance exam for 2019 taking the pole position in the reserved category, but also secured an all India 45th rank in the general category. He is also the state topper from Odisha in all categories in the JEE Advance exams for this year.Sambit who was a 2 year classroom student of Allen Career Institute Bhubaneswar, later studied at the Kota centre. At the Allen Career Institute, he was felicitated by the center’s head Anurag Mishra where Sambit was accompanied by his mother, Narmada Behera. He was received at the centre with a bouquet of flowers and sweets. Later, Sambit interacted with the students and the teachers and spoke about his success mantra. “The bed rock of my preparations was the guidance at the Allen Career Institute” said Sambit. He noted how Allen’s faculty members and teachers guided him to channelize his preparation in the right direction. Sambit credits his perseverance as the key factor for achieving this rank. He began his journey 3 years ago. Sambit also shared his daily schedule of studies and how he kept himself stress free during his preparations in Kota. Sambit’s mother expressed her happiness and appreciated Allen’s culture and system for supporting young students like her son and shaping their dream into reality. Center Head Anurag Mishra also highlighted Sambit’s dedication during his Kota days and also spoke about Allen’s support in helping and nurturing him to achieve the goals. All other faculty members also shared their thoughts on Sambit’s achievement. This year the number of students from Odisha who appeared in the IIT Advance exam was 3,161. Like always, this year too students from Allen Career Institute have shown what right guidance and training can do.IIT Rourkee on June 14 morning announced the results for JEE Advance 2019 entrance exams in which Allen Career Institute’s Kartikeya Gupta secured the first rank all India, Kartikeya scored a 100 percentile in the entrance exams. Allen Career Institute’s Senior Vice President C R Chaudhary said that besides these their classroom students Nishant Abhangi, Kaustubh Dhighe and Aditya Badola secured 6th, 7th and 11th rank respectively. Another student, Sambit Behara secured the top rank in the SC category.Maheshwari said that of the seven zones in IIT, the toppers from three zones are Allen Career Institute students. From IIT Mumbai zone, Kartikeya Gupta was the topper, Gudpete Aniket from Kharagpur zone and Jayesh Singla from Roorkee zone. He added that IIT Roorkee organised the JEE Advance exams in two stages across 155 cities on May 27, 2019. Around 2.45 lakh students were qualified to appear from JEE Advance exams, but only 1.65 lakh appeared. The successful candidates will study at the 23 IITs, which have around 11,279 seats. This time the total marks were 373, which were divided into two papers with 186 marks, each.
