Puri: It’s the day of world famous Grand Chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath of Puri. The Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) bravehearts who are all set for their upcoming Annual Flagship Cycling Adventure of Manali-Leh-Khardung La, couldn’t miss this opportunity to have a Grand Darshan of The Trinity on their respective chariots. The ride was to receive the blessings of the Trinity and also to witness the grandeur of this annual chariot festival.
In discussion with the Dept. of Sports, Govt. of Odisha, the BCAC conducted this ride also for promotion of upcoming Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar. The peloton of 20+ pedallers from Twin-city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack whirled their wheels through the NH-16 to reach at Puri Grand Road (Bada Danda) at around 9:30AM. With special request and arrangements, cyclists went in the crowd to offer their prayers to the Lord of the Lords.
Jerseys marked with Hockey World Cup theme were a special head-turner of today’s century ride. After having the Darshan on holy chariots, the peloton came back to Bhubaneswar enjoying drizzling rains on the way back.
