Avenue plantation In The Memory Of Scribe Subash

Report by BadalTah; Rayagada,September 28: Subash Panda, a working journalist of the district, who worked inseveral print and electronic media, passed away at a very early age of fortyseven. He was a non-compromising journo, pro-poor and committed to thedevelopment of the district. He also led several media associations at districtand was associated with state and national journalists union for protection ofjournalists interests till his last breath.

Tokeep Panda’s good work alive for the time to come, Green Rayagada under theconvenorship of Sri Krishna Kant Jena and Sri Jogeswar Das organised a plantationdrive at avenues in Kasturi Nagar area. Forest based saplings like neem andamla were planted by senior journalist Sri Badal kumar Tah, Prof. Dr DusmantaKumar Mohanty, RTI activist & budding journo Sri Rabindra Patakhandal, SriRashmi Ranjan Dora, Sri Amulya Sahu, govt advocate Sri Braja Sundar Nayak,senior citizen and civil contractor Sri Satyabadi Pati, Women Organiser ofWomen Cultural Club Smt Rubirani Kundu, Convenor of Azad Hind Associationadvocate Sri Binayak Kar, Lion’s Club member Sri Gopa Sundar Das, PratapChandra Bauri, Teacher Kishore Panda, Niranjan Satpathy, Cosumer Court MemberSmt Padmalaya Mishra, JITM Director Sri Rajesh Padhi and several other membersof Walkers’ Club, Lions’ Club, Swami Vivekananda Seva Samiti and BharatiyaMazdoor Sangha. The members also paid tribute to Subash Panda for his yeoman servicefor projecting burning issues of Rayagada, especially the downtrodden of thedistrict. Teacher Sri Iswar Rao, considered as a friend of trees in Rayagada, performedthe ground work in the plantation drive.
