Aparajita Sarangi joins BJP in presence of Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan at New Delhi

New Delhi: Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Ex IAS from Odisha cadre joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in the presence of National President Shri Amit Shah and senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

I have strong value system & love to take challenges & being in BJP will give me opportunity to pursue both. The party’s motto & leader made me choose BJP which not only assures development but ensures speed in development says Aparajita Sarangi after joining BJP in New Delhi.

“I welcome her to the BJP family. Her experience in administration esp. in improving school & mass education in Odisha will greatly strengthen BJP Odisha,” says Minister Pradhan.

Party’s Odisha head Basant Panda and In-charge Arun Singh were prsented. She is scheduled to visit Odisha tomorrow to receive an welcome from the state unit of BJP at Bhubaneswar.

It should be noted that Sarangi took voluntary retirement as a public servant recently to start her new journey. Sarangi’s application under Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) had been accepted by the Odisha Government on November 14 after being submitted on September 15. She had completed her tenure as Joint Secretary of MGNREGA under Ministry of Rural Development in August this year.

Sarangi, a 1994-batch IAS officer, got widespread acclamation in the state for her bold measures as the BMC Commissioner from 2006 to 2009. She also worked as School and Mass Education Secretary, Director of Panchayati Raj Department, Higher Education Secretary along with Textiles and Handloom Secretary.
