The PEO Association protest against the government’s failure to meet their four point charter of demands.
They are demanding graduation be the qualification for appointment of PEOs and publication of ‘method of recruitment and condition of services rules’ as per the decision of the Panchayati Raj Department, early gazette notification on the implementation of RACP in 10,20 and 30 years with a grade pay of `4200,`4600 and `5400 respectively in view of the High Court order, provision of pension for the PEOs, who have been promoted as gram panchayat secretary and 100 percent promotional provision of PEO to the post of gram panchayat extension officer said Gajapati Unit President Sri Lakhmidhar Kanhar, Secretary Niladri Sabar.
Many promised had been made earlier by the State government and District Administration but the government is yet to fulfil their genuine demands said Rajendra Rath Vice-President, The Dharana will continue for an indefinite period till their demands are fulfilled said Sahadeba Kalinga Joint Secretary. Members of PEO staged dharana in front of the collector office . Ragunath Nayak, Digambar Das, Narasingh Gouda, Nrusingha Ch.Mishra were present at the Dharana.
