Adani Foundation organises Exposure visit of Self Help Group

Dhamra: As part of enhancement of livelihood activities in the locality, Adani Foundation organised an exposure visit of Maa Dhamarai (Rabindranagar, Dosinga) & Matrukripa SHG (Gourprasad, Kaithakhola) to Jaleswar block in Balasore district.  This exposure visit was conducted to increase the knowledge & interest of the SHG members towards dairy farming with modernized way for business purpose.

Mrs. Radhikarani Gandhi from Jagadhatry SHG of Jaleswar in coordination with Bank, OLM, NABARD, OMFED & Veterinary Surgeon helped the SHG members to understand about the technical aspects of dairy farming and milk production in the locality. Among others, Odisha Livelihood Mission In-charge and Jaleswar Block Manager Mr. Tapas Ku. Mohanty was present in the program. 

Ms. Jayanti Das (President) of Matrukripa SHG, Kaithakhola praised Adani Foundation for making arrangement of this exposure visit which will help them to start the activity in their group with the help of Bank & NABARD. And through this the group will able to income at least Rs. 4000 per month.

Similarly, Ms. Anita Maity (President) of Maa Dhamarai SHG told that this exposure visit will give the best idea to all the members to start the dairy farming with one hybrid cow for each member.      

It may be noted here that Adani Foundation is promoting the SHGs members to learn about various livelihood based activities in coordination with NABARD & Odisha Livelihood Mission. Paddy crafts & Agarbati making were the key activities for the both the SHGs in the previous days. Currently both the SHGs depend on vegetable cultivation for their livelihood.
