Dhamra: On behalf of Adani Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Dhamra Port Shri Subrat Tripathy felicitated International Master Chess player Shri Sidhant Mohaptra today at a special programme organised in Port premises. Adani Foundation has extended its support to encourage Master Sidhant to take part in World Junior Chess Championship, scheduled to be held from November 12 to 22 in Italy. He has also won International Master Title in July 2017. Recently, All India Chess Federation (AICF) has allowed him to take part in World Junior Chess Championship. Master Sidhant is the 6th International Master of Odisha.
Shri Sidhant Mohapatra is the son of Mr Muktikant Mohaptra and Mrs Jyostnamayee Mohapatra from Chudamani village of Bhadrak district.
Speaking on this occasion Master Sidhant said ‘my aim is to win Gran Master Title and I need help and blessings from my well-wishers’.
Sidhant, who currently pursues Plus Three science with (physics) Honours at Atal Bihari College in Basudevpur, has proved his mettle in chess clinching two gold medals, one silver and four bronzes both in national and international championships so far.
