Report by Orissa Diary Bureau; Bhubaneswar : During the year 2009 and in 2010 houses of 40 senior officers (Class-I) have been raided by vigilance . No Vigilance case is lying for 5 years without trial. In all cases the processed of trial is going on. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed in the House , in replying to a question of Adikanda Sethy.
Further he expressed that The delay in trial of vigilance cases is due to absence of Presiding Officers in different vigilance courts. and less number of vigilance courts in comparison to the huge number of cases under trial. Apart from the 9 courts presently functioning, government are taking sincere steps to make functional 3 new courts at Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar and Phulbani sanctioned in 2008 to reduce the pendency.
