Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Bhubaneswar : The school and mass education department has sacked Jogendra Kumar Panda, OES-I, Inspector of Schools, Jajpur, and ex-Inspector of Schools, Sundargarh, from his service on the charge of demanding and acceptance of a bribe of Rs 10,000 from one Nabin Chandra Nayak of village Japanga in Sundargarh district for giving appointment to his daughter as a primary schoolteacher.

On completion of the trial, Panda was convicted by court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

Consequent upon the judgment, principal secretary to government, school and mass education department, has ordered dismissal of Panda (till now under suspension) with retrospective effect from July 24, last year.
