Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s rowers Pratima Puhana and Pramila Prava Minz made history and made the nation and state proud by bagging the bronze medal in the women’s pair rowing event in the 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou in China on Friday.
The duo from Odisha found a place in the record books after becoming the first women's pair from the country to clinch a bronze medal in the rowing event.
The duo clocked 7:47.50 seconds to finish third behind winners China and Kazakshtan. Chinese duo Sun Zhengping and Ling Hong clocked 7:22.06 secs for the gold and Kazakh girls Oxana Nazarova and Svetlana Germanovich had a timing of 7:35.13 secs.
