Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Golf Club's Dulal Pany and Bhumi Mohanty of put up a good show in the Tata Open 2010, which kicked off at Beldih and Golmuri Clubs in Jamshedpur on Wednesday.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda inaugurated the 18-hole Stableford competition. Along with top golfer Arjun Atwal, Munda was also a particiapant. Sources said Tata Open is one of the important golf tournaments in the Professional Golfers and Trainers of India (PGTI) calendar.
The prize money in 2010 is Rs 50 lakh and the top 120 professional golfers of PGTI are participating.
After the end of Pro-Am version, where a professional golfer partnered an amateur golfer, the prize-money tournament for the 120 professionals began on Thursday. Gaurav Ghei, Ashok Kumar, the Ali brothers, Vijay Kumar and all the leading participants of the India Golfing Tour along with some other participants of Asian circuit are taking part.
