Entrepreneurship Summit, Thinking Social, A Tata Social Enteprise Challenge at XIMB on 18th Feb
Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Bhubaneswar: “Thinking Social”, a series of “Tata Social Enterprise Challenge” by Tata group and IIM, Kolkata which is being organized by GSIS, a PNV foundation, and Ekutir initiative, MyCityLinks and XSEED, The Entrepreneurship Cell of XIMB on 18th February 2017 at XIM, Bhubaneswar between 9 AM to 5 PM.
This one-day event will host many entrepreneurs/students from the state who shall be illuminated with inspiring talks from 6 successful and inspirational entrepreneurs from the state and beyond who will speak on social entrepreneurship and its impact on the society. Odisha is amongst the most backward states, but with the underlying potential to have an accelerated growth. PNV Foundation and Ekutir, through their joint initiative GSIS (Glocal Social Impact Summit) intend to tap this potential by organizing a series of such social impact programs that will trigger enhanced self-employment and employment generation.

Tata Social Enterprise Challenge, a unique initiative undertaken jointly by an educational institution – IIM Calcutta – and a business group – the Tata group, is a quest to find India’s most promising early-stage social enterprises. It endeavours to create an ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and encourage sustainable, scalable and measurable social impact. Started in 2012, Tata Social Enterprise Challenge received 214 impact proposals this year, and in all over 900 impact proposals across the five editions have been received till date. To expand its reach and impact, Tata Social Enterprise Challenge through its R.A.C.E campaign(RoundtablesAwarenessChallengeEngage) conducts a series of seminars and roundtables across India on the theme of ‘Thinking Social’, bringing together social entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and members from the academia, industry and business from across the country on one platform.
