Vedanta Jharsuguda awarded the BSI Business Continuity Management System certificate
Jharsuguda : Vedanta Limited - Jharsuguda has been certified by BSI in ISO 22301 in Business Continuity Management System. The organisation is now the first IT and Data Center function in metals manufacturing industry in India to be certified with a Business Continuity Certification. This certification applies to all IT business applications and PTS (Plant technical systems) supporting Aluminium, Power and Port Business Entities.
The certificated is awarded to a business which has successfully understood and prioritized its threats benchmarked with the international standards for business continuity. The ISO 22301 specifies the requirements for a management system in risk mitigation and recovery.
It is a proud accomplishment for Vedanta’s Aluminum Business in Odisha. The group has invested 60,000 crores in the state in its best-in-class facilities, providing direct and indirect employment to 50,000 people. The Jharsuguda smelter is the first in Asia and the second in the world to be accredited with ISO 50001 (EnMS). Incidentally, it is also the single largest smelting facility under one roof in Odisha.
