School children showcase their creativity in the biodiversity festival at Tata Steel Noamundi
Joda: School children in the periphery of iron ore mines of Tata Steel in Odisha and Jharkhand explored biodiversity at Noamundi. Around 100 school children from six schools, namely, DAV School Noamundi; DAV School Joda; Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalayaNoamundi; Jindal School Barbil; St.Mary`s School, Noamundi and Padmawati Jain SaraswatiShishuMandir, Jaganathpur participated in various activities in the biodiversity festival “Jaiba Kala Vividhata”.
Today was the third day of the biodiversity festival organised by the Ore, Mines & Quarries (OMQ) Division of Tata Steel at Aqua Park, Central Camp, Noamundi. These children participated in competitions like sit and draw, collage making and crafts from waste materials on the theme of biodiversity.
The students also got hands-on training on art and craft from eminent artists from the states of Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Besides the local artists, total 13 noted painters, sand artists and sculpture artists like MrManasRanjan Jena, MrBrindabanDebnath and MrBadalPramanik are participating in the festival. The art and craft made by the artists and school students will be exhibited on the concluding day of the festival on December 28, 2016. Prizes to the winners of various competitions will also be given away during the closing ceremony.
