Odisha Govt to set up Super Specialty Cardiac Care Hospital at Jharsuguda
Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to healthcare services for people in Western Odisha, a Super Specialty Cardiac Care Hospital will soon come up at Jharsuguda. The State Government has signed an agreement with CARE Hospitals for establishment of the advanced facility at Jharsuguda. It will be a 100-bedded hospital providing the latest and most advanced clinical services in cardiac care. The hospital will be the first-of-its-kind in Odisha with 50% of its beds earmarked for free treatment to the poor patients. This will be a boon for the large number of poor patients who cannot afford the high costs of cardiac care.
The project will also address the challenges of cardio-vascular diseases that are emerging as one of the biggest health risks. It will be carried out in public private partnership mode. State Government in partnership with Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd will be bearing the Capital expenditure of ₹75 crore for the hospital that would be operated, maintained and managed by CARE Hospitals.
CM Naveen Patnaik directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to take appropriate steps to ensure there is no delay in construction. CM Naveen Patnaik also asked CARE Hospitals to carry out extension activities and reach out to the needy people with their hospital.
