Report by Orissa Diary correspondent; Bhubaneswar: Industries Minister Raghunath Mohanty on Wednesday informed the House that a total number of 24, 815 people have been employed in various industries set up in the State during last five years. Of the total people employed, 16, 674 belong to Orissa, 8141 people are from other States, he informed.
Replying to a question of legislature Jogesh Kumar Singh, Minister said that direction have already been issued to all the RDCs and Collectors to see that the local people get employed in the industries on priority basis. “It has been fixed that 90 per cent of semi-skilled and unskilled employees and 60 per cent of skilled employees would be recruited from among local people”, he said.
