Sambalpur: A large number of people, including school children, on Saturday took out a peace procession here and paid homage to people who laid down their lives
during the terrorist attack in Mumbai.
Holding placards in support of national unity and denouncing acts of terrorism, they marched from G M
in front of the Saheed Pillar near Dr Nelson Mandela square.
Amidst sound of the police band, they paid floral tributes at the Martyrs Pillar in memory of the security personnel during which the policemen held their guns
half-mast as a mark of respect.
Among others, Sambalpur superintendent of police Sanjay Kumar, ADM Nirmal Satpathy, CRPF commandant Bharat Bhusan Baid, asst commandant Satpal Singh
and vice-chairman of the municipality Sidharth Saha and teachers and students paid their homage.
