Rourkela: The three-day youth conference and training programme of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) kicked off on Friday. The meeting would pass resolutions on adverse impact of the Central Ordinance on mining and apathy of the Centre and the Indian Railways with regard to infrastructure development in the State.

A host of Ministers and legislators of the BJD, including Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister and BYJD president Sanjay Dasburma, Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Ray, Panchayati Raj and Law Minister Arun Sahu and BJD’s student wing president Byomakesh Ray attended the inauguration of the conference.

Dasburma said that despite being rich in mineral resources, the State continues to be a victim of Central indifference. The meeting would also work out strategies to highlight the achievements of the Naveen Patnaik Government by educating the youth BJD activists.
