Lord Siva, 50 ft long sand snake with a message Omm Namah Sivaya at Odisha's Puri beach
Puri: Maha Shivratri is a Hindu festival celebrated every year in reverence of Lord Siva. In this day the devotees chant "Omm Namah Shivaya", a sacred Panchakshara mantra dedicated to Lord Shiva.

On the eve of Maha Sivaratri sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture of Lord Siva and a 50 ft long sand snake with a message "Omm Namah Sivaya" at Puri beach of Odisha. Pattnaik has created a 5 Ft high Sand sculpture of Lord Siva. He used 4tons of sand and took 5 hour to complete this sculpture.

Puri is a holly place lots of pilgrims comes here to visit temple, so I choose Puri beach to creat this sculpture. Students of my sand art school join hand with me to complete this sculpture.

So far Sudarsan has participated in more than 50 International sand sculpture championships and festivals around the World and won many prizes for our country.
