Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic mishap a couple died on spot following newly built drain wall collapsed and fell down them in Jagannath colony in Paradeep port town on Tuesday. The deceased duo has been identified as Govinda Burman and his wife Menaka Burman hailing from Chabispragana district in West Bengal and recently was residing in a slum dweller colony near PPL site in Paradeep.

Report said that Paradeep municipality recently has started some repairing works in rundown drainage system in Jagannath colony and duo had engaged in the work, on Tuesday morning both wife and husband had joined in work,  while passing  Govinda hit a newly constructed wall in the work place  all as sudden the wall collapsed him and including his wife, duo did not escape as the wall mounted them, nearby other workers rescued them and immediately shifted them to Biju Memorial hospital for treatment but they were succumbed to their injuries before reaching hospital.

Acting on the incident police registered an unnatural death case after conducting autopsy and further investigation is on, police said.
