Kalinganagar: Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has always undertaken initiatives to address the needs of the communities, and provided them with superior healthcare facilities. In line with this commitment, Tata Power, in partnership with Rotary Eye Hospital, Cuttack, organised an eye check-up camp at its project site in Kalinganagar.
The camp benefitted more than 125 officers along with contractor workmen, and was supervised by Eye Specialists and Refractionists from JPM Rotary Eye Hospital, Cuttack, along with the Company’s employees. The expert team provided free eye-examinations, counsellings on eye care, and distributed free spectacles to many visitors at the camp. The camp received an overwhelming response, and was appreciated by all the beneficiaries at the Kalinganagar project.
Speaking on the initiative, Purushottam Thakur, head, Odisha projects, Tata Power, said, “We at Tata Power always endeavour to provide better healthcare facilities to our employees and communities at large. By organising such camps, we aim to spread awareness and sensitise the community on personal hygiene and good healthcare. We are delighted with the overwhelming response to this initiative, and we will continue with our philosophy of bringing in quality healthcare facilities to all our stakeholders.”
The expert Eye Specialists sensitized the patients about the importance of regular eye check-up, and offered tips on care and protection of eyes. They also advised the participants about the special care required while spending long hours in front of computers and long exposure to sun.
