Athagarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a whirlwind visit to Athagarh on Thursday unveiled an informatory book AINA published by the Department of Information and Public Relations. The book contains various plans and policies of the State Government.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated various facilities including a tehsil office building, a market complex at Tigiria, a Kalyan Mandap near the Athagarh NAC Office and Biju Setu over Sapua river near Ichhapur. He also laid foundation-stone of a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) building.
Besides, Patnaik attended the golden jubilee ceremony of the Gopabandhu Science College here, where he said Odisha has turned into a hub of quality higher education with institutes like the IIT, AIIMS and IOM now having their establishments in the State. There has been sustainable development in the fields of agriculture, technology, computer science, communication in the State and the youths should take adequate advantage out of it and develop their skills, added Patnaik.
Among others, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, local MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain, local Sub-Collector Trilochan Pradhan and college principal Major Nityananda Rout were present at the function.
Attending a State-level meeting at the Mahotsav Ground, Patnaik distributed bicycles, land records to Adivasis, cash to women SHGs and other benefits to the beneficiaries of various schemes.
