Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Bhubaneswar: The 5 Days State level Youth Red Cross Study-cum-Training camp is being organised by the Youth Red Cross Unit of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch at Ganesh Institute of Engineering & Technology, Andharua, Bhubaneswar from 26.12.2016 to 30.12.2016. On 26.12.2016, the camp was inaugurated by Dr. S.C. Jamir, His Excellency, Governor, Odisha & President, IRCS-OSB as the Chief Guest and attended by Sri Niranjan Sahoo, Collector-cum-Chairman, District Red Cross Branch, Khurda & Er. Bibhuti Bhusan Tripathy, Chairman GIET as the Guests of Honur.
Today, in the morning the participants practices Yoga and after that the topic experts trained the volunteers on the topics of Voluntary Blood Donation, First Aid & Volunteerism to build their capacity to render humanitarian services to the most vulnerable people in the society. Besides, a competition on essay also organised and the winners will be felicitated on the valedictory function of the camp.
For the first time more than 450 volunteers from 30 districts of Odisha participating in the said camp.
Dr. Maj. Kalpana Das, Youth Red Cross Officer will coordinate the 5 days training camp under the Guidance of programme Dr. Gyanabrata Mohanty, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch(IRCS-OSB) and Secretary, Youth Red Cross, Odisha.
