Report by Deba Prasad Dash; Malkangiri: With the BSF, Grey HOUND,COBRA, CRPF and other armed police personnel’s are all set to move from Koraput to Malkangiri for a massive operation against the red rebels, the Maoists have expressed their stiff opposition to the operation by intensifying the violent activities in Kalimela and Balimela areas.
Challenging the cops, the Maoists have gunned down one Nityananda Nag at Buduguda ,some 1 km from Kalimela police limits on Sunday early morning suspecting him to be a police informer.In many leaflets and posters left near the dead body, the Moists have demanded calling off Operation Green Hunt launched by the security forces against them.Earlier on Friday wee hours, the rebels were also set afire a construction machine at Chintalbeda, some 1 km from Balimela police limits.
The road construction work from was being executed by the Balimela based Contractor Ajay Kumar Patra from Zero Gompakoda Main Canal to 14 GMC. The machiene was hired from one Pashupal Narendra Sardar of Narasinghpatnam(A.P), contractor Patra said to this paper.
Mean while Police has been put on high alert in the district with the beginning of two days Maoist bandh call from today in six states including Orissa apprehending violent activities during the bandh. With the killing of Nityananda Nag , the Maoist rebels seems warned the cops of dire consequence for the operation green haunt.
