70th Republic Day celebrated at NTPC Kaniha

Kaniha: The 70th Republic Day was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha today.Chief Guest of the event, Shri Santosh James ,Chief General Manager hoisted the national flag at Ambedkar stadium of the power station. On this occasion, school children along with CISF Security & Fire Wing participate in the parade.

Shri James took the guard of honour on this auspicious day made a call to remember the contributions of freedom fighters and pay respect to their sacrifices. He stated that on this very day, the constitution of India was framed by Dr B R Ambedkar .

Speaking on NTPC, he stated that “Power is a major contributor in the economical development of the nation, with power generation, NTPC is playing important role in the development of the country.NTPC making efforts to acquire other power projects. Currently, India’s largest power generating company NTPC Limited has an installed capacity of 52496 MW.”

Speaking on Talcher Kaniha he said “the station has generated 16914.5131 MU of power till 24.01.2019 with PLF of 78.83 % . The PLF is expected to increase in coming remaining months of the fiscal year 2018-19

Shri James stated “NTPC Kaniha has won National Safety Awards, prestigious Vajra award for excellent PLF for 2016-17.The station has won two Swarna Shakti Awards for Best Operating Solar Power Station and Best Health Services for the year 2017-18.

For periphery community development, the power station has been undertaking various CSR initiatives. To extend it further, NTPC Kaniha is planning to adapt village and take care of medical needs of the villagers.

On the occasion, meritorious awards were given to employees. Cultural performance was given by school children. Special security drill was also exhibited by CISF personnel.
