Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation organized the 2nd Intra-OMC Cricket Tournament 2019 involving 8 teams representing their respective mining regions and Head office. The tournament was held on 7th and 8thMarch 2019 at KIIT University cricket ground, Bhubaneswar. The tournament was inaugurated byR.Vineel Krishna IAS, MD OMC in presence of SriSatyajitMohantyDirector (Finance), DrSantanuRath Director (Personal) and Sri R.N Praharaj Director (Project and Planning) and other senior officials of OMC. The eight participating teams were Head-office, Koira, Daitari, Gandhmardhan,Rayagada,Bangur,Barbil&JKRoad. The tournament was held over 2 days with 7 matches being played on knock-out basis. All teams played with great sportsman spirit and enthusiasm. The final Match was played between BARBIL and GANDHAMARDAN. In a tight match, OMC team Barbil defended the Title of OMC T-10 Championship by beating Team Gandhamardan in the Super Over. The tournament was officiated-by OCA panel umpires.
The concluding day function was attended by Directors & Senior Executives of OMC who congratulated all the participating teams for playing with competitive spirit and making the tournament a great success. Director OMC presented the runner’s up & winner’s trophy and wished to make the tournament be a grand event in upcoming years.
