Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of 3rd Anniversary of 22Bikes, many events were organized to mark the special day. Like all previous years, a Blood Donation Camp was organized in collaboration with Parivartan Foundation and Indian Red Cross Society at 22 Bikes, Sahidnagar, Bhubaneswar. The Camp started from 8AM in the morning and completed around 1PM in the afternoon. More than 75 donors from Bhubaneswar attended this Camp and donated blood to Red Cross Blood Bank at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. A few donors, namely Biswasima, Kalpana (please add other names) donated for the first time in their lives. The participation of lady donors was also quite high as compared to previous years. Many regular donors also donated in this camp for the noble cause. This was a highly successful camp with such a huge number of donors.
On this special occasion 22 Bikes also organized a “Donate a Book” Campaign, a Signature Campaign for Blood Donation and a Traffic Awareness Campaign. Recently, 22Bikes also organized first of its kind of “Ekamra Road (Cycling) Race” in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on this noble occasion, Ajay Nanda, Proprietor of 22 Bikes shared, “Every year we try to do something different on our Anniversary. This year, it was the Ekamra Road Race in addition to our regular activities of Blood Donation, Gift a Book and Road Safety Awareness campaign. It’s a privilege that the extended family of 22Bikes comes always together to support us in each of our initiatives. It was encouraging that we have collected more than 75 units of Blood this year.”
22Bikes is a joint for Bicycling Enthusiasts of the twin city (Bhubaneswar and Cuttack), which is conceptualizing cycling as a mode of alternative and eco-friendly transport. It is working tirelessly to popularize cycling while motivating individuals to become a responsible citizen.
