14 lakh marginal farmers in Odisha to get assistance in 2nd phase on Feb 22 under KALIA scheme

Bhubaneswar: Financial assistance to be given to 4.5 lakh landless farmers under 1st phase of KALIA scheme on February 15, informs Agriculture Secretary adding that 14 lakh marginal farmers to get assistance on February 22 .

Financial assistance under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme would be provided to landless farmers of the State on February 5, informed Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Saurabh Garg on Tuesday.

An amount of Rs 5,000 each would be credited to the bank accounts of around 4 to 5 lakh landless farmers on February 5 through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, said Garg.

Later on February 22, financial assistance of the same amount would be provided to around 14 lakh small and marginal farmers, he added.

KALIA Scheme was launched by the State Government with an objective to accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty across Odisha. The State Government has also launched the schme for all the small and marginal farmers, cultivators, vulnerable agriculture households and landless agriculture labourers.
